Reconnect with a Shared, Organisational Purpose

This is a facilitated session designed to support leaders to take stock, align their thinking and develop action around a common, shared organisational purpose.

Reconnect with your organisational purpose – a workshop for leaders looking to reflect on, explore and reconnect with their organisational purpose – and align around a common vision, create clarity and drive change.

This workshop is designed as an action-orientated sessions where leaders can take stock, share their thoughts and develop or refine a clear sense of organisational purpose – one that can be used to catalyse action, align efforts and present a united front to their organisation.

It’s designed as an immersive experience that encourages leaders to reflect on their organisation’s purpose and its alignment with their own values. Through a combination of individual and group environments, leaders can share ideas, build plans in a supportive setting and develop a greater sense of clarity on organisational purpose and objectives of their leadership community.

It will help leaders gain a deeper clarity of their organisation’s broader mission and how it can be translated into actionable goals. By the end of the session, leaders will have a clear roadmap for driving change and creating a positive impact within their teams and the wider community.

It can be easy for leaders to lose sight of their longer-term purpose due to a variety of reasons:

  1. Short-Term Pressures: Leaders often face immediate challenges and pressures that demand their attention, making it difficult to focus on long-term goals.
  2. External Influences: The external environment, such as market fluctuations, regulatory changes, or competitive pressures, can force leaders to shift their focus away from long-term goals.
  3. Lack of Clarity: If the longer-term mission is not well-defined or communicated clearly, leaders and their teams may struggle to stay aligned with it.
  4. Urgent Crises: Emergencies or crises can divert attention away from long-term objectives as leaders prioritise addressing the immediate issue at hand.
  5. Performance Metrics: In some organisations, leaders are incentivised based on short-term performance metrics, leading them to prioritise immediate results over long-term strategies.
  6. Leadership Turnover: Changes in leadership can lead to shifts in priorities and strategies, causing a loss of focus on the longer-term mission.

Session Objectives

This session is completely customisable around your objectives, meaning that although the process will be similar the focus or priority can shift based on what would add the most value for leaders. In the past, we have developed sessions with focuses on:

– Moving towards a more purpose-led operational model

– Building a customer charter and promise to drive change

– Reconnecting with our organisational “why” and using it to drive change

– Aligning leaders priorities around a common focus and united front

– Defining a future-state culture and how to get there

While each session’s main goal will vary based on your needs, every session we run is designed to help leaders reflect on themselves, the wider organisational impact they want to achieve and how, collectively, they can come together to act as a unified front towards their goals.

From this session, leaders will walk away with:

Better Alignment: Achieving greater alignment among employees towards the organisational purpose and mission.

Strategic Thinking: Developing the ability to align the organisational purpose with long-term strategic goals.

Honest, Open Debate: The opportunity to explore thinking, ideas and challenges in a supportive, facilitated environment.
