High-performing teams training

One day · in-person

A one-day course for managers who want to build and sustain a high-performing team. You will assess your real team, identify the specific gaps, and leave with a practical plan for what to do differently.

You want your team to perform well. But high performance is not something you can demand - it is something you have to create the conditions for. And most managers have never been shown how.

This course gives you a practical framework for building and sustaining a high-performing team. Not a collection of management theories - a structured approach you can apply to your real team, starting the day you get back to your desk.

What you will work on

You will spend the day assessing your own team against proven frameworks, identifying where the real gaps are, and building a plan to address them. The course is structured around three questions:

Where is my team right now? - You will use diagnostic tools to assess your team's current health - looking at trust, clarity, accountability, and how well people work together in practice rather than in theory. This is not a tick-box exercise. It is an honest look at what is working and what is not.

What does my team actually need from me? - Different teams need different things from their manager. A team that lacks trust needs something different from a team that lacks clarity about priorities. You will identify the specific interventions that will make the biggest difference for your team right now.

How do I build habits that stick? - One good conversation does not fix a team. Lasting improvement comes from consistent rhythms - how you run meetings, how you give feedback, how you check in on progress. You will design a set of practical habits you can embed into your existing schedule.

Who this is for

Managers and team leaders who want to improve how their team works together. Whether you are leading a new team, an established team that has hit a plateau, or a team going through change - this course gives you tools you can use straight away.

Also valuable for HR and L&D professionals who want a structured approach to team development they can recommend or facilitate internally.

What you will take away

A clear picture of where your team is strong and where it needs work. A prioritised plan for the specific interventions that will make the biggest difference. A set of management habits - meeting rhythms, feedback approaches, check-in structures - designed for your team's needs. And confidence in diagnosing team dynamics rather than guessing at them.

How the day works

The format mixes diagnostic exercises, facilitated input, and planning time. You will work through frameworks including Lencioni's Five Dysfunctions and team health assessment tools, applying each one to your real team. The day ends with a concrete plan you can act on.

Groups are kept to twelve to sixteen people.

What makes this different

This course focuses on what you will do differently on Monday morning, not what you will know differently. Every framework is taught through the lens of "what does this mean for my specific team?" - not as abstract theory. If your organisation needs broader support developing its people and teams, our organisational capacity building and organisational development consultancy work alongside leadership teams to build lasting capability.
