What's in this CEDAR™ Feedback Model template
The five CEDAR steps (Context, Examples, Diagnosis, Action, Review), each with what it involves, and how to run the conversation: agree the topic, keep to a few examples, ask rather than tell in Diagnosis and Action, and end with a date to review. It works for positive feedback as well as developmental.
Tips for using it
Prepare your examples before the conversation, but let the other person lead the Diagnosis and Action steps. The most common mistake is jumping from examples straight to actions - the Diagnosis step is where the real insight happens.
